Source: cherikkouI’m putting all of my characters on hiatus (Wally, Annalyssa, Bree and Wally the Wailmer) starting tomorrow.
My hiatus might last anywhere from 2 weeks to the entire fall semester, depending on my workload. As much as I want to rp, I really need to get good grades this semester, or else I wont be able to graduate on time.
I will still be on my personal, and I might drop in TC when I’ve got the time.
“… … —!!” Ruby did a double take at Wally, upon hearing his usually fragile friend curse. But the situation at hand was equally shocking and appropriately fitting. He reclined in his seat, heaving a sigh. He wasn’t sure what he and Wally could do, but he wanted to do something. He didn’t expect Wally to decline his request, and hearing his eagerness to join him stung him with a pang of guilt.
“I want to go to the Space Station and gather as much information as I can about Rayquaza. We suspect the man behind this destruction, Tobias, to be in pursuit of the Sky Pokemon. We know he was, at some point, in possession of the two orbs.”
Ruby sighed and yawned, rubbing the back of his neck. He got up from his seat and began to wander around the room to keep himself awake. He can’t fall asleep, not yet. “And if that doesn’t turn up any results, I want to join the rescue effort. Rebuilding the towns, helping the… survivors.”
Wally listened patiently as Ruby explained the situation, but he knew there was much more to this story. ‘Survivors’? He could only hope that there were many survivors. But, for now, with this ray of hope, maybe they could find a way to stop this horrible Tobias person, before anymore rebuilding would be necessary.
“Okay, we can go to the Space Station tomorrow, then. We’ll figure out a way to stop Tobias; I know we will.” The timid little green-haired boy was suddenly so determined. But, this new found focus didn’t change his caring nature. He watched Ruby pace the room, and saw how tired he was. “But, for now, you need to rest. You wont do anyone any good if you’re dead tired.”
Wally stood up, and walked past Ruby towards the stairs. “You can stay in the guest room.”

Ruby ran his hands over his face, perhaps trying to smooth the stress away. The day had been busy, rowdy and unpredictable. He found it hard to answer Wally’s question, staring at the ceiling instead of at his friend.
“Pacifilodge, Odale, Fallarbor, they’ve all been destroyed. I can’t recall what other towns have been ruined, but small towns are in danger. That’s why I’m here.” Ruby turned to Wally, meeting his terrified eyes. He didn’t want to dump any responsibilities onto his friend, and especially after he had just returned from the hospital, but he had to get him out of Verdanturf. “We have to leave, and soon. And if it’s not too much trouble, to assist me.”
“Holy shit.” Never before in his life had Wally cursed. But this situation was ridiculous. What on earth could possibly be happening that was causing all of this destruction? Each of those towns, though small, were filled with many houses. And each of those houses were filled with people. Each of those people had hopes and dreams. Lives were being lost, and Wally was sitting here, comfortably in his living room.
“Ruby, of course I’ll help you. What do you need me to do?”

Ruby chuckled as the frail boy steered him inside. He took better care of Ruby that he did of himself. Ruby took a seat, the plush comforts of the sofa a relief to his back.
“Hospitalized again?” His head darted up at Wally. Illness and medical attention weren’t an uncommon event for the other, but that didn’t stop the severity that he and others took the news with. Ruby was constantly worried for Wally’s health, but his cheerful demeanor always washed away his concern. “Are you doing alright? Well, that hug certainly was strong. But you… really haven’t heard the news?”
Hesitantly, Ruby reached over towards the coffee table, and turned on the television on the other side of the room. Already on a news station, images of the destroyed remnants of Fallarbor flashed on the screen. His tone was grim. “Hoenn is being destroyed.”
He really should be used to it by now, but the way that all of his friends were always so worried about him bothered Wally at times. “I’m fine, seriously!”
Wally’s jaw dropped at Ruby’s statement. Had he not seen it on the news at the same time, he wouldn’t have believed it. He was still in disbelief. “This.. is a joke, right? Ruby, tell me you’re joking..” Wally’s normally calm voice was suddenly filled with fear.

Being hugged so tightly and so suddenly gave Ruby quite the surprise. He smiled, and hugged the other boy similarly. “How have you been, Wally?” He couldn’t help but notice the other boy looked a bit paler than usual. He was just in time.
“Sorry I came by so late, I’ve been a bit preoccupied. I flew in from Unova last night and arrived this morning. I made it to Verdanturf just now.” Being reminded of his recent actions stimulated an unwanted yawn from him. No, that’s not what he needed at the moment; there were things he needed to get done, and he had finally reached Wally. “Have you been keeping up on the news reports?”
Wally noticed Ruby yawn, and pulled him inside the house, and steered him towards the living room.
“News reports? No, uh.. I’ve been a bit sick for about a week. I’ve been in the hospital, actually!” He laughed genuinely, trying to brush it off. He was pretty used to being in and out of the hospital, but he knew his friends would worry anyways. “I just got home a little while ago. Why?”

A cool breeze washed over him, the serene atmosphere of the town as characteristically undisturbed as it always seemed to be. Verdanturf seemed to stand separate from the world surrounding it, no matter the circumstances, musing along in its own complacency while completely oblivious to the troubles of outsiders.
Ruby approached a quaint, humble home, and knocked on the door. If his estimate was correct, it wouldn’t be long until the tranquil ground and people of Verdanturf would be compromised for reasons beyond anyone’s knowledge. He couldn’t leave him behind.
“Wally? Are you home? It’s me, Ruby.”
Wally walked over to the door, very confused. He had been very sick for the past week, and hadn’t really had contact with anyone. Even if he hadn’t been (more) sick (than usual), it was pretty late already. Visitors at this hour were rare, and most surprising of all, it was Ruby. Although they were best friends, Ruby and Wally hadn’t seen much of each other lately.
He opened the door, and hugged Ruby tightly. “Ruby, what are you doing here so late?”

uh-huh! I’m dying to finally meet you. And I’ll introduce you to all of them, I promise you’ll love them. Summer and M-31 are a little kooky but I know you’ll love them, haha. You will come with us, won’t you?
Kooky? What do you mean by that? Mhm, I’d love to hang out with you guys!

Uh-huh! And I’ll finally be able to meet you in person, haha. Finally! Haha. And well, I’m not sure if you know them. There’s Summer, she’s my old partner as a Ranger, M-31, she’s the coolest Galactic Grunt I know (and the only one hehe), and I’d like to bring along my friend Koya, who’s an officer actually, but he’s a really cool guy, and well, yeah. I have an odd group of friends but I love them all to death, haha.
Hmm, you’re right. I don’t think I’ve met any of them. But, it’d be totally awesome if I finally get to meet you in person! I’m so excited!

[seeing Wally’s excitement left a huge imprint on his spirits. He wasn’t expecting it, but he found himself fighting the urge to hug him; he wasn’t sure how he’d react, though] Well, nothing’s set in stone yet, but I’ve been talking to a few friends and we all wanna have a quick get-together in Hoenn. So, I might just be coming by for a little while, but I would definitely love to come visit you. I wouldn’t miss it for the world.
